Managing Your Microsoft Subscriptions: A Comprehensive Guide
Overview of Subscription Management
You can efficiently oversee all your Microsoft subscriptions through the dashboard of your Microsoft account. This platform allows you to modify payment methods, review order history, and access receipts for each subscription.
Understanding Account Types
Important Note: Certain products acquired via an employee discount program (previously known as the Home Use Program) or volume licensing managed by an organization’s IT department may not necessitate a personal account. The following information is not applicable to these specific Office versions or Microsoft 365 subscriptions.
Accessing Your Services and Subscriptions
To view all Microsoft products linked to your account, navigate to the Services & subscriptions section on your Microsoft account dashboard.
Signing In
- For users with non-subscription versions of Office:
– Locate your Office product and click on Install. Follow the instructions provided to install or reinstall desktop applications.
- For those with a Microsoft 365 Family or Personal subscription:
– Click on Install premium Microsoft 365 apps and adhere to the prompts for installation or reinstallation of desktop applications.
Managing Your Subscription Settings
Within the Microsoft 365 subscription tab, select Manage. Here, you have several options:
- Renew your subscription using a prepaid code or card.
- Cancel an existing subscription.
- Toggle recurring billing settings on or off.
For users with a Family plan, you can initiate sharing features for your subscription and manage who has access by adding or removing individuals from sharing privileges. If you’re not the primary subscriber, you can view who is sharing their Microsoft 365 services with you and opt out if desired.

- Oversee device management.
- Review all subscriptions along with any licenses allocated to you.
Important Considerations
Please note that some functionalities may be restricted based on permissions set by your IT administrator. If you’re responsible for managing Microsoft’s services within an organization as an admin, refer to the Microsoft 365 Admin help center for detailed guidance on user setup procedures.
